The Team

Emilia is pursuing her Master’s Degree in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of North Florida. Emilia, or Em, is providing individual and group sessions at KEBT Inc. under the supervision of Jada Helmer,  DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™, LMHC. QS-MH. Em is receiving training in substance abuse treatment and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Em worked in an anxiety and behavioral health clinic during her undergraduate experience at Florida State University in her pursuit to gain a diverse range of practice with individuals with anxiety, depression, and trauma disorders. The aspiration of supporting and empowering others has always been at the heart of Em’s educational and vocational endeavors.

Em strives to be a multiculturally-competent therapist with a holistic and comprehensive approach to providing therapy. Her passion for advocacy, social justice, and equitable empowerment is threaded into her professional identity and counseling style. Em believes in the power of impact on the individual level, and the strength that it holds to ripple out and build family, community, and system-wide empowerment. Em hopes to concentrate her practice on diverse and minority communities, especially women, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those who have experienced poverty.

Emilia’s theoretical orientation interests primarily includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as Narrative Therapy and Multimodal Therapy. The values in the therapeutic environment in which Emilia cultivates uphold authenticity, warmth, empathy, synergy, fostering resilience, and the cherishment of genuineness in the therapeutic relationship. When Em is not in session or studying, she is often outside savoring the sunshine or engaging in various hobbies that spark her creative interest, such as cooking and crafting.
